Exciting news today about a new mindfulness workshop starting soon at Earsham Hall (Denton Road, Bungay, NR35 2AN).
Mindfulness helps us to live in the present moment and put our attention where we would like it to be. This means we are unhooked from worries about the future and memories from the past. It is a skill we can learn and that needs practicing. It is about being awake and engaging in our lives actively, being “here”. We can all practice and use mindfulness – a classic example I regularly come back to of mindlessness is when we reach for a cup of tea (or a biscuit) only to find that we have already drunk/eaten it and can’t remember doing so. That is a sure sign we are hooked onto our thoughts and not being mindful.
Workshop details
This workshop will comprise of three 90 minute sessions, including a break in the middle for refreshments, over three weeks. I ask that you try and commit to all three sessions from the start to get a broad understanding of mindfulness. This gives you the opportunity to put the skills into practice. However, I also understand that this can feel difficult so please get in touch to discuss further.
In the first session we will look together at understanding what mindfulness is (and what it isn’t) and start thinking about our Wise Mind and how to access this. In session two we will look at the different ways we can practice mindfulness and in the final session we will think about how we are trying to practice and what we are looking out for in our practice. There will be some home practice tasks in between sessions to complete based on what we covered in group.
All materials required for the sessions will be provided at the start of group.
The course will cost a total of £50 to attend. There are 7 places currently available for people in the next mindfulness workshop sessions. If you would like to register an interest in one of the spaces please get in touch by email.
